Vicki McGee-Absten, is a biologist, herbalist, and permaculture designer of Cherokee and Catawba descent. She and her family have been practicing traditional medicine for generations and she is a member of both Cherokee and Muscogee Creek traditional ceremonial communities.
Vicki received a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of West Florida and is a certified Medical Assistant. Vicki is a graduate of the Florida School of Holistic Livings’s Community Herbalist program and has studied at both – the Dogwood School of Botanical Medicine, in British Columbia, Canada, and the Eclectic School of Botanical Medicine located in Lowgap, North Carolina.
She is a member of the American Herbalist Guild and received her International Permaculture Design certificate in Costa Rica from the Permaculture Institute. She currently resides in Key Largo, Florida where she works in a local doctor’s office and is the owner of Native Naturals Herbal, an herbal product and consulting business.
She is also co-founder of SOW Green Technologies a company whose mission is to promote Urban farming, sustainability, and education.
She is passionate about empowering people with the skills needed to take care of themselves and their family’s healthcare needs.
